Job Description

We are currently partnered with an established energy engineering firm that works with commercial and institutional buildings throughout the New York City region. They are looking for an experienced Senior Energy Engineer with hands-on experience in energy efficiency, retro-commissioning, and building optimization projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform energy audits, retro-commissioning, and building performance assessments
• Evaluate HVAC, controls, and building automation systems
• Identify and develop Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
• Complete energy savings, feasibility, utility, and financial analyses
• Troubleshoot building systems and identify operational improvements
• Support implementation, functional testing, and performance verification
• Prepare technical reports and present recommendations to clients
• Work closely with building owners, facility teams, contractors, and engineers

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience within energy engineering
• Strong experience with retro-commissioning and energy efficiency projects
• Experience working on commercial buildings across the NYC region
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, BAS/BMS, and building controls
• Experience developing Energy Conservation Measures
• Knowledge of NYC energy regulations and utility incentive programs preferred
• CEM, PE, LEED AP, or similar certification is a plus
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
